Business Challenge
This machine was being imported from the USA for use in production and was not CE marked. The force meters were no longer supported by the original manufacturer, and the electronics were not compatible with Irish supply voltages.
Our Approach
This included:
- Carrying out risk assessment
- Modifying the unit to operate on 230VAC
- Addition of torroidal transformer and associated circuitry
- Replacing non-compliant force Meters
- Addition of supplementary earthing
- Creating a Technical File
- Creating a list of Essential health and safety requirements and validating against design
- Creating electrical and mechanical drawings
- Carry out electrical tests
- Issuing a declaration of conformity and affixing the CE plate to machine
Result
A refurbished compliant manual press fully operational with new Force meters and full technical manual
